LC Smith 410-3" Field

Here is a particularly rare configuration 410 bore LC Smith with three inch chambers and great original condition. Often, owners try to "fix" the fact that these historic and rare guns begin to show their age in the form of "patina," but fortunately this one was just left alone and nicely cared-for.
28" barrels with three inch chambers retain excellent, shiny bores measuring 0.407 and choked 0.008/0.017. The ribs and "squiggle matting" are tight and crisp. There is an additional ivory bead in the rib, approx 2-1/8 from the breach. Barrels retain approx 60% of their black finish. Action retains case colors on the top of the breech, top lever, top tang, water table and trigger plate. There are traces of case colors remaining on the locks. Barrels lock-up tight on face with the top lever just to the right of center. Automatic safety engages properly and fired shells extract easily. Breech face, hinge pin and screw slots suggest that this gun was fired very little.
Pistol grip stock has approx 2-1/2" drop at heel and 13-3/4 pull over vintage Harris Bros/Pachmayer pad. Stock is crack-free, but has one small chip from behind the left lock. There are some prominent dents at the bottom rear of the fore-end wood. These are evident in the photos. The wood is still proud over the metal at the inletting and retains much of its finish.
