Mauser MS 350B Rifle .22

Wow! Ultra rare collectors item! Only the most serious and dedicated of Mauser collectors boast, rightfully so, to have one of these in their possession!
To paraphrase Jon Speed's Smallbore Mauser book, the clip-fed MS350B is considered the top-of-the-line and most expensive target rifle, with only about 8600 examples made in total before WWII...NOT many, especially considering the destruction of arms by the allies after the war, and simple attrition rate. Mr. Speed goes on to extoll the virtues and extraordinarily fine details of these rifles, and warns ultimately that any collector should be happy to locate an example of in good condition...
Here is the penultimate Mauser MS350B Target rifle, in stunningly beautiful condition, WITH the almost NEVER-seen factory quick-detach scope mounts holding a Hensoldt Klein Dialyt 2-3/4X steel-body Scope. Estimated 1934 build date, rifle retains matching serial numbers, even on the sliding tangent sight assembly and bolt, intact buttplate and grip cap, perfect bore and excellent original metal finish. The beautifully-figured walnut stock benefits greatly from the recent application of a hand-prubbed oil finish, and light "crisping" of the checkering and borders. There is one area of pressure marks that would not steam-out, as seen in photo, on the left side of the stock under the word "Mauser" on the reciever; three scratches exist on the left side of the wrist, but are small and may not even be visible in the photos. Few slight but visible handling marks present on the butt. Stock's crisp edges are still where they belong, cartouche vivid and nice on the butt, and wood is still proud over the rear action tang=Good!
Though blueing is worn from the face of the muzzle, and rifle is 76 years old, I have, carefully from a bench-rest, and using a more modern scope, achieved near hole-in-hole accuracy at 100yards, repeatedly! Not bad at all.
Steel-body Hensoldt-Wetzlar scope has a few handling marks, agreeing with its age, but no rust or detractions. As seen in the photo, paint is chipping from the brass bits on the turret and eyebells, but adjustments work and optics are nice and clear. Reticle is a vertical post with pointed top, that protrudes slightly above a fine horizontal line. Scope retains its protective leather cover, stitching intact, marked "GERMANY"
Front sight ramp has the plunger retained interchangeable blade system, though only the pictured blade is present and included. There is an included proper sheet-metal front sight hood. Rear tangent sight is in shockingly beautiful shape, and is a marvel of machine work and complication!
Weight 9 pounds 2 ounces complete with scope, scope assembly (removed from rifle) approx 13 ounces. Overall length 45-1/2" Length of pull to serrated single trigger 14-1/2", drop at comb/nose 1-3/8" drop at heel 2-1/2" Rifle includes one 5-shot magazine marked Mod.45 on its base.
