Parker GHE 12 bore ejector guns are getting rarer and more expensive by the day. This example, built on a "1-1/2 Frame," in some circles may be described as a mechanics special, though it is an operational shotgun. Besides the restocking job of A1 Special styling with beavertail fore-end, one shpould notice that the fore-end iron is not original to the gun. There is a bit of a gap where the iron mates to the action knuckle, and though the guns opens and closes well and the ejectors work, fore end needs some gunsmithing work to make it more pleasing to the eye. 30" vent rib barrels lock up to the action nicely, with only barely perceptible movement when given a good "twist." Chambered for 2-1/2" shells, nice shiny bores measure 0.733" and gun is choked 0.026/0.033" Barrels retain approx 85% black finish and "ring" nicely. Barrel flats are marked "Parker Bros Overload Proved." Serial number 2128XX retains approx 70% case colors and crisp engraving on the frame; additionally, this example has a gold, nicely-detailed dog head inlaid in the trigger bow! Drop at heel approx 1-7/8" and 14-1/4" pull from selective single trigger over a deteriorated Whiteline pad. Non-automatic safety.
