US 1903 Springfield

What an impressive package! We consider this an historically important rifle, especially considering the four-digit serial number, high level of condition and the included accessoies. As these are not out specialty, we make the following observations based upon information in Brophy's book about the 1903 rifles.
The 1906 barrel date suggests this example was one of the earliest arsenal updates to the "new" 30-06 caliber, along with the requisite sights and handguard. Additionally, this rifle may have been slated for further conversion to the rare "Periscope" version, as evidenced by the 25-round magazine extension.
Stock is in beautiful condition. It appears to have been "burnished" at some point, but shows no evidence of having been subjected to sanding. It retains crisp, clear markings and the correct smooth buttplate and hardware.
Metal finish and action interior are in excellent condition. The bore appears, for all intents and purposes, perfect. Striker piece on the bolt retains vibrant case colors.
Overall, this package has rare and desireable features seldom seen in a collectible 1903 rifle that actually makes it to the open market for sale. Add this to your collection, then ask your friends "Where's yours?"
We hope the detailed photographs will sufficiently present this rifle to prospective buyers, but feel free to contact us with any questions, and we will attend to them as best we can.
