Weatherby 270 Magnum

This is truly a scarce encounter! This serial #26X rifle was one of approx 300 made in 1950 in Southgate, California and built on a FN Mauser receiver. This is an honest and original rifle right down to the proper Weatherby recoil pad. The only points of note regarding condition are that the blue is just about gone from the bolt knob, the back of the trigger guard, and the heel of the recoil pad is "squashed" a bit from having resided, untouched, in a safe for years. Otherwise, I have to rate overall condition at a strong 98+%
The stock, decorated with impressive wood inlays and dotted with "birds eyes" has minimal, barely-noticeable scratches in the finish and one similarly small pressure mark on the forearm checkering; approx 13-1/4" pull from Jaeger trigger over the recoil pad.
26" barrel retains excellent, bright, shiny, crisp bore. The Bausch & Lomb "BALFOR" 4X scope sits on the proper Bausch & Lomb mounts. Scope retains excellent, clear and crisp optics with fine crosshair reticle.
The beautifully-tooled leather sling is soft and supple, and attaches with Jaeger-marked quich-detach swivels.
Here is your opportunity to acquire what we consider the "Holy Grail" of early Weatherbys.
