Win. Pre War Mod 70 -06

Attention Winchester Collectors! This Model 70, serial Number 322XX was made approx 1940 and retains a very high level of condition. Metal finish is even and black, with minor high edge wear and scattered small dings and scratches visible under close scrutiny. There are some mysterious dings in the muzzle, like one would expect from an impact with concrete, but they are not close to the bore, so the crown in not compromised. The 24" barrel has clean, crisp shiny bore, chamber and rifling from front to back. The bolt has matching serial number electric penciled on its underside. The bolt face is clean and pit free, and the action interior is crisp and nice. This rifle has been around a while, but has not been carried or shot very much. The Lyman receiver sight is also in crisp shape, with positive click adjustments and tight tang to base fit.
The stock is beautiful and crack free, with a few scattered pressure marks as seen in the photos. Finish is worn on the buttplate, likely from having resided in a safe for many years.
This scarcely seen Pre War Model 70 is in stock and ready for immediate shipment.
