Here is a very nice example of a Pre-64 Model 70 rifle with a rare combination of caliber and optics. Weighing just over 9-1/2 pounds, this is a standard grade (not a featherweight) example which retains a very high level of condition. Original black matte finish on the metal is a strong 95+% with some worn finish on the steel butt. Condition could possibly be as high as 98% overall. Serial number 1369XX places production 1949-50. 220 Swift caliber 26" factory STAINLESS STEEL barrel retains excellent, shiny, crisp, near new bore, stippled front ramp and sight hood. The stock has only superficial scratches in the finish and a pressure mark on the left side of the butt. Stock checkering is crisp and near perfect. The Unertl scope is approx 21-5/8" long, has beautifully crisp and clear optics and fine cross hairs. Scope also retains the knurled and threaded steel lens caps. Where the eyebell attaches to the scope tube, there is a knurled ring with a flat milled on its top. On that flat is the number "10" and that suggests this is a 10X scope. This rifle exhibits a level of togetherness that makes it stand out as a gem in the sea of Winchester Model 70's.
This is your opportunity to own a spectacular pre-64 Model 70 in a scarce caliber and with an impressive Unertl scope.
